Image
This is a new painting. The young woman seems to be staring at what I've written. Be Patient...Love wil come..Sit back and enjoy the ride!! You know it seems to me that so many young people just rush to find love. Everyone has to have a boyfriend or girlfriend.....why can't they just Love Life. There is a great big world out there to explore...places to go. And when it is right...Love will find you. I hope you enjoy the new painting. Blessings, Deborah

SPOTLIGHT of the WEEK: TIP JUNKIE

Image
Good Sunday Morning everyone. Last week I started a weekly post that Spotlights a blog for their ideas, creativity, or things that I had learned from that blog. Last week I featured The Checkered Apple. This week it Tip Junkie. When I first started my "craft" blog months back, one of the first craft type blogs I joined and followed was Tip Junkie. Gosh, I thought I had "hit the mother load". So many ideas!!!! And most so EASY to follow. I've done several things I found on Tip Junkie. One was how to color Mason jars. So, this week if you haven't already Followed or visited Tip Junkie, check them out. They can be found at www.tipjunkie.com, or you can visit them through their button on my blog. So, need an idea or new project...Well then grab some Tip Junkie. Blessings, Deborah

Change is coming

Image
As some of you have noticed I have changed my blog title to include the words "Folk art from the heart". I'm excited because for the past several months instead of crafting I'm painting. AND I LOVE IT!!!! My style is diffidently folk art inspired and self taught. I will still continue to do crafts and post them, but mainly I will be doing my painting. Also, I will continue Spotlighting one blog each week. So look tomorrow to see if your name is there. Blessings, Deborah

It's My Birthday

and I've had a great day. My sisters had asked me what I wanted and I told them...anything and everything to help me paint and craft. So i got alot of new canvas's, new paint brushes, more wooden planks to paint my signs on. And a new logo design for my new t-shirts that we are designing!!! Just been wonderful being with family today. So, with that, I'm off to paint!!! Blessings, Deborah

Spotlight of the Week: The Checkered Apple

Hello everyone...Good Monday to you all! I've learned so much these past months from starting my blog and following so many talented folks out there. So, I've decided that each week I'm going to Spotlight a blog that I follow. And this week, the very blog is Diane at The Checkered Apple! Diane is always the first one to make a comment on anything that I post, whether it is a painting, craft, or even a family photo. She is a very talented woman with alot of great ideas. Plus, I just tried this past weekend her wonderful cornbread recipe. So go check her out...she can be found at: http://thecheckeredapple.blogspot.com/. Also, you can check her out by grabbing her button which is on my blog. Enjoy and everyone be Blessed today. Deborah

Whimsical Queen and Housewife Folk Art Painting

Image
This is another new painting I've done, and if you haven't guess yet.....I've fallen IN LOVE with whimsical style type paintings. This one was inspired my Dear Mother. She could go run my fathers law offices, come home , cook a magnificent meal, clean the house, and STILL...and STILL Be the Best Mom I knew. She could do anything and everything, and still can. She wanted to make all the food for my daughter's weekend as she also use to do catering. My daughter Brooke, was like..Granny you don't need to do this...but alas, Mom/Granny won out. She wanted to do this for her first and oldest grandchild...and Guess what? It was Marvelous baby...marvelous! So, this is the Queen of all she surveys!!  I really like this one. I hope you enjoy her also. Blessings, Deborah

Hand Painted Pillow Folk Art

Image
I have seen so many pictures on blogs, sites, etc. of talented people painting chairs and other things that are covered with material. I really wanted to try this, so I had an old white pillow that I had taken the cover off of and started. I like the way it turned out, but I learned several things along the way. First for me, I need to paint the entire background before doing the image, because I found it was hard to go back and outline around the image....but I think it turned out pretty good. So, I would like to here from you on if you have ever painted on material and any tips you can give me. Blessings, Deborah "It's a Hat kind of day"

Wedding Pic

Good Friday everyone!! I haven't posted in a while as it took me a couple days to recover from my daughter's wedding, which was beautiful. I have been doing lot's of painting this week, and will be posting some new pics tomorrow. But, I wanted to share a picture of my daughter, Anna Brooke and myself from the weeding. Isn't she beautiful!!! I hope everyone has a great weekend and I look forward to "getting back into the artistic groove in my Life"!! Blessings, Deborah

The Wedding is Finally Over!!

Wow, last night was wonderful. My oldest daughter, Anna Brooke, got married last night at my mother's home. I hopefully will have pics later this week to post, AND hopefully can get back to crafting and painting this week. I hope everyone has a Blessed Sunday and enjoy time for yourself and your family. Vintage Needle point Mirror!!

Image
Wow, Hi everybody. It seems like I haven't posted anything for awhile, but have been very busy getting ready for my daughters wedding on the 14th. But, I wanted to share this Great Item with y'all. This is a vintage mirror a friend had given me. I loved it, but it looked so drab...so, I gave "the ole girl a face lift". As  you might know by now from looking at some of my other designs, I love bright, vivid, funky, fun colors! So, she is surrounded by wonderful colors to make "her feel special in her golden years"....lol If anyone is interested in purchasing her from me, please let me know. I hope everyone had a Blessed 4th....and may you be Blessed today. Blessings, Deborah
